Live a Life of Balance

Philippians 4:5 "Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand."
When was the last time you decided to do things according to what is most important to God, instead of what's always important for others? Have you stopped to ever ask yourself, "Is this something that is pleasing to God, or only pleasing to man?" Yes the promotion may help your stature and raise your salary. But who is it really benefiting? Do you find with that promotion a whole lot more responsibility that takes you away from what matters most: your time with God? your family and children? your own fulfillment in life?

God makes it very clear where our priorities should lie...

Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

God should be first place over anything we do. Without Him, our life would be imbalanced. He is the nucleus that holds all things together. When we realize that and decide to not just include Him, but make Him the very One all of our decisions are based upon, then we will see the advantages we receive from a God who holds all of the favor and blessings in His hands. You turn a job that you felt you had to have in order to get what the world had to offer into a ministry. You will influence more whether you have a title or not, and you will have more fulfillment in that job whether you received a raise or not. God becomes your source! And He is the best one to provide everything you need.

Your life will grow more in balance in:

1. Spiritual (Your relationship with God and clarity of vision in ministry)
2. Family (More closeness with your spouse and children)
3. Work (Not just a job, but a fulfilling career)
4. Health (Exercise and purposeful choices in your eating habits)
5. Relationships (More meaningful relationships with friends)
6. Self (Well-being more complete, signaling peace and tranquility)

God desires you to be prosperous and in health, even as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2, emphasis mine). You can do that with a life of balance.

Be the Change...

“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” –A.A. Milne
Many of us feel we have nothing to contribute. Either we don't have enough education, or we have gained all of the accolades we can possibly possess through degrees, certifications, and licensing, we still think those are not enough to be noticed. We capture a thought, and that thought turns into an idea, which could very well help someone else that needs it most, but we don't have the confidence to execute our plan towards completion.

So here's the question I must ask each of you:

Would you rather someone else take the very idea that you have and make a name for him or herself with all of the wealth and fame that is associated with someone who's achieved an extraordinary feat, all from your creativity, or ... would you rather it be YOU?

“Someone was hurt before you, wronged before you, hungry before you, frightened before you, beaten before you, humiliated before you, raped before you… yet, someone survived… You can do anything you choose to do.” –Maya Angelou
It's important for each of us to understand the capacity we have to be the miracle many need in this world. Someone is waiting on your story, your expertise, your resources, your love...you are their ticket to freedom. Freedom to live a life in Christ by what you have within you! Yes, it may be hard to want to help, based on how you were treated in the past, but guess what, you made it. And I'm sure you don't look like what you've been through.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable for the sake of others. Do things that matter. Whether a kind gesture, or a word or deed, you have what it takes to make the world a better place, all because of the change you made to be the best you for someone else.

Let this motivational video inspire you to change your way of thinking about who you really are!  Until next time...

"Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."
— Robert F. Kennedy
Every day people take risks that could ultimately provoke danger, mishap, or loss, all for the chance to win at this game called 'life'. Some do indeed have victory, while others are defeated, only to get back up and try again.

How many of you can say, you've taken risks? Have a dared to start a new business venture, write a book, or close a potentially big deal that made you lots of money? Or is what you dream about only that...a dream?

No one has the opportunity to succeed unless they were willing to fail first. And to be honest, they may have failed many times. But the key is to NOT QUIT!

Try these strategies when you decide to take the next leap of faith: 5 Ways to be Better at Risk Taking

And let me add my own advice to you:

1. Always know that if God sent you to it, He will bring you through it.

2. God always makes provision for the vision He has given you.

3. There is nothing new under the sun. Remember what you have thought about others may have already tried, failed, and quit! The difference is: Don't you quit!

4. Each risk will bring you further and further to the promise. Keep etching away!

5. One day you will look back at how far you've come and you'll say, 'I Made It!'
